Two youths are facing burglary charges after being arrested in Bethlehem overnight.

Police were called to two separate properties in Athfield Drive about 1.30am after the youths were disturbed by home owners.

Two youths were arrested following two burglaries in Athfield Drive overnight.

Tauranga Police Senior Sergeant Shannon Clifford says a dog unit was called out to track the alleged offenders.

'They were arrested and charged with burglary.

'All items taken were recovered and returned.”

Shannon says police are still investigating the incident and the youths will be dealt with by Youth Aid officers.

"If anyone has any information about the burglaries or have been burgled themselves, can they please contact Tauranga Police Station on 577 4300."
