The man was apprehended by police without incident when he arrived at port.

'Communications between police and the fishing vessels was difficult due to the location of the fishing vessels.”

Karl says they have not been able to confirm many of the details around the incident.

'Basic information received was enough to warrant police deploying armed police staff to meet the vessel.”

He says with any incident like this, police undertake a comprehensive risk assessment to determine the risk to police staff, alleged offenders and the public.

Police are continuing to investigate the incident.

Perhaps they need a guard on each boat as well, just like the WBOPDC office that had a couple a bits of glass broken, already have them at WINZ, next ACC and in preparation for the RIOTING of the RORTED RATEPAYERS of Tauranga, they will need a nother 100-200 more staff, then of course there will need to be support persons all over the place to so as they can cope with the overpaid and under worked existance within city hall! haas anyone considered that the Ratepayers are teh ones that need a guard from the horrid treatment dished out relentlessly upon them?
