Serious injuries after farm fall

The Trustpower TECT rescue helicopter was dispatched at 6pm on Saturday to Nukuhou, southeast of Whakatane, where a 73-year-old man had suffered a serious suspected neck injury.

The man had fallen down a 5-6 metre bank on his farm and his landing had resulted in his injuries.

He was stablised at the scene before being flown to Tauranga Hospital for treatment.
