A kayaker has escaped without injured after being rescued from the Huka Falls near Taupo.
The Taupo-based Greenlea Rescue Helicopter was dispatched around midday Monday to rescue the woman who was discovered on a patch of rocks, around 60m above the falls.
An Apline Rescue team member was lowered to the kayaker via a long line, equipped with a water rescue basket.
'The woman was extracted from her location where she had become stuck and airlifted to safety,” says a spokesperson.
'Fortunately, the woman did not suffer any injuries during her ordeal.”
