It's an intersection WAITING for MAJOR ACCIDENTS. NZTA - how many cars & TRUCKS, PASS this intersection on SH2 everyday - both ways? NZTA, how many vehicles EXIT Omokoroa Road onto SH2, (south - to Tauranga, OR north to Katikati, EVERY DAY? AND finally, how many vehicles coming from Tauranga TURN into Omokoroa Road EVERYDAY? OH, NZTA, don't say that you don't know, I have seen BOTH the rubber traffic counters AND people actually counting vehicles at this intersection MORE times than I can remember. The simple fact is that it's a 80/100 kph highway that has, either, traffic trying to enter the traffic flow from a STANDING start, OR even worse has traffic trying to CROSS the 80/100 kph traffic from a standing start. DEATH TRAP

Accident waiting to happen

Really need a roundabout here. Awful to turn right onto SH2 from Omokoroa Rd and its only going to get worst with all the new housing being built at Omokoroa.
