A 62 year old Waihi man suffering breathing problems was picked up by the Tauranga based Trustpower TECT Rescue Helicopter early this morning and flown to Waikato Hospital.
He was having difficulty breathing as a result of a pre existing medical condition, says pilot Liam Brettkelly. He was stabilised at the scene by St John medics before being flown to Waikato hospital in a critical condition.
