What’s On? Sculptures & Winston Peters

Winston Peters speaking in Katikati is ‘What’s On’ today. File photo.

Good morning Sunners, and welcome to another beautiful Sunday. The weather looks good, and there's plenty to do in the Bay.

Art fans can head along to the Rotorua Arts Village green to watch the sculptors at work, while the politically savvy can hear Winston Peters talk.

The Sulphur Lake Sculpture Symposium is on from November 19-27, a free event open to the public, which sees artists working on new sculptures to be exhibited in Rotorua.

Rotorua District Council community arts advisor and event coordinator Marc Spijkerbosch is expecting lots of locals and visitors will head down to the symposium throughout the week.

'This is an awesome event with awesome people. It's free, open to the public and a unique opportunity to see artists in action as they transform raw limestone blocks, stone and logs into imaginative pieces.”

If the political landscape is more your thing, there is a free public meeting in Katikati today with NZ First leader Winston Peters.

Items on the agenda include a Katikati bypass, immigration, housing and education. The meeting will take place at 2.30pm in the Katikati War Memorial Hall.

These are only a couple of the events on today. Check out more from SunLive's full What's On listing below.
