The pensioners aren’t to blame

I'm fed up with society blaming pensioners for this country's financial woes. We've done our bit for God, Queen and country, built this country, paid our taxes, still do, fought in wars that benefited no-one and never will.

Too many wealthy people aren't paying their fair share of taxes, sending their money overseas and big companies moving overseas to avoid taxes and high wages, paying a pittance to employees, leaving thousands of New Zealander's unemployed, in financial strife, having to go on unemploym ent benefits until they can find another job, not always successfully.

We have youth wandering our streets, shopping centres and malls, on benefits, too lazy to get a job and making trouble for those who do work or own businesses.

Teenage girls dropping out of school and having babies because they think that will be easier than working, sucking up more on DPB, never worked a day in their lives and expect to have everything dropped in their lap.

Students with outstanding loan debt, who pop overseas on their OE owing the country millions, not to mention people owing millions in unpaid fines and so it goes on.

Leave pensioners alone, we're not the sole cause of this country's financial problems.
