Stabbing in Manurewa

A 22-year-old man remains in Middlemore Hospital in a critical but stable condition following a stabbing incident in Manurewa yesterday.

The victim was at an address in Manurewa at around 10pm when an altercation has taken place, as a result he has suffered multiple stab wounds.

A person at the address has then called 111 while on en route to the hospital, they were asked by ambulance staff to pull over and to wait for them to arrive.

Ambulance staff have then uplifted the victim from outside McDonalds on Great South Road and taken him to hospital where he underwent surgery overnight.

Enquiries are on-going to identify those involved and to establish what has occurred at the address. There is no further information available at this stage.
