Police say they located a suspected clan lab at an address on Walker Road East, between Tauranga and Katikati, this morning.

In a statement, police say it's suspected the property was used for the manufacture of methamphetamine, and ESR scientists and the clan lab team have been processing the address today.

'A male thought to have links to the address is in a serious condition in hospital, and police are waiting to speak with him on matters relating to the suspected clan lab.”

They would also like to speak to the man's associate who dropped him off at hospital today and are encourage him to come forward.

Police are continuing to make inquiries.
