Teen tasered and sexually assaulted

A Tauranga woman has been named as one of five people charged with the abduction, sexual violation and attempted murder of a teenager.

Four of the five people charged had their name suppression lifted when they appeared at the High Court at Auckland today.

They can be named as caregiver Wayne Blackett, 39, from Manurewa; Julie-Ann Torrance, 42, from Henderson, Nicola Monique Jones, 29, from Tauranga, and Cameron Te Hau Kareti Tautau Hakeke, 33, from Green Bay.

It was also revealed that police have a warrant out for the arrest of a sixth person in relation to the incident.

The five are charged with a string of offences relating to the abduction, assault, sexual violation and attempted murder of a 19-year-old woman in May.

Justice Simon Moore continued name suppression for a third woman, a 29-year-old from West Auckland.

All five have denied the charges and after initially appearing in the North Shore District Court last month the matter was transferred to the High Court.

The alleged victim was found bound and gagged on the side of the road at Dome Valley, north of Auckland, and was taken to hospital in a critical condition.

Court documents alleged she was subjected to a prolonged attack over several days, during which her hair was cut and she was tasered.

Justice Simon Moore set a trial date of February 27 next year.
