TECT election candidates announced

The 2016 TECT trustee election will see 11 candidates battle for three places on the trust.

Nominations closed for the 2016 TECT election at midday today.

Independent returning officer Warwick Lampp will manage the TECT election process.

Independent Returning Officer, Warwick Lampp, says this year's numbers compare to the 19 candidates in 2014, 23 candidates in 2012, and 18 in 2010.

Existing Trustees Bruce Cronin and Ken Collings have chosen not to stand, but current Chair Bill Holland is re-standing. 'I take this opportunity to thank both Bruce and Ken for their outstanding service to TECT,” says general manager Wayne Werder.

'Both Bruce and Ken have been long serving Trustees and TECT would not be where it is today without their considered input.”

The election is being carried out by both internet and postal voting, with voter packs being sent out on Monday, June 27.

This is the sixth election for TECT that has used online voting, but consumers can only vote using one method.

If votes are received by both internet and post from the same consumer, both their votes will be invalid.

Each consumer is entitled to one vote irrespective of how many power connections they may have.

Voting closes at midday on Friday, July 22.

Any queries about the election of Trustees or eligibility to vote can be made to the Independent Returning Officer, Warwick Lampp, on the election helpline 0800 666 028.

The confirmed candidates are: Natalie Bridges, John JC Cameron, Anna D'Arcy, Bill Holland, Steve Joseph, Raimarie Pointon, Hylton Rhodes, Tracey Rudduck-Gudsell, Amanda Sutcliffe, Bob Tulloch and Peter White.

Sorry Jimmy -but you forgot to mention Natalie Bridges- an extremely capable and competent woman in her own right in addition to being exactly the sort of person that TECT needs- young, wife and mother in addition to having a career of her own- and a great Community Person with in depth knowledge of which groups are required to make a community tick over and would benefit most from Grants

agh nope!!!, and whatever floats your boat, that's what elections are for apparently, you can choose which candidate you want, and I am sure Mrs Bridges can sink or swim on her own virtues, unfortunately other candidates cannot swim.

One Bridges is more than enough in a taxpayer/ratepayer funded job.
