I agree the traffic from Station Rd is causing a back log on SH2 to Whakamarama during rush-hour.
What use to be a 20-minute trip from Omokoroa a month ago has now become regularly a 40-minute trip in the morning. During the school holidays there is no gridlock on SH2, as is the case in Auckland.
I only hope the planners and council will be setting aside land in Omokoroa for a future high school with the Government's new Special Housing Area and the rapidly growing hinterland. Similarly why can't a ferry service be introduced like Auckland, into the city for workers so they arrive relaxed at work without having to find parking as the wharfs already exist for a ferry service?
Perhaps the new cycleway into the city should also be built from Te Puna first and then extended to Omokoroa.
I hope some of these ideas are given consideration by transport planners and council to ease the pressure on the dated SH2 network.
