ACT Party have their say

The ACT Party made a rare sortie into the western Bay of Plenty and it came away effusing.

Epsom MP and ACT MP David Seymour was invited to Te Puke by The local Economic Development Group's Mark Boyle.

The MP says there's a real danger with his parliamentary colleagues that their most familiar environment is the Koru Lounge.

'But what you see in Te Puke are people who are not afraid of the world but want to take on the world. And I think that's a fabulous place for a community to be” says the MP.

'I think it's one of the most extraordinary communities in the world where everything is peaceful, people are trying to innovate and everyone wants to do and be the best.”

David Seymour believes 'exceptionalism” is going to become a New Zealand thing.

'Talk to Americans and they have this idea that they are a nation above all others. But like them we seem to be taking the world on and winning.”

The MP also believes it's critical at the next election, ACT is going to be a real option for people who want to continue a centre right government without being dependent on Winston Peters.

'It could be vital for the government. Look at Jim Bolger, look at Helen Clark. It would be disappointing if John Key became another Winston Peters' victim. ACT is a voice that needs to be there because we will be critical for the government.”

The ACT leader also warned Te Puke leaders, New Zealand is in a phase of taking it easy as far as policy making goes in Wellington.

'The Government needs to get on and do the things it needs to do and do well rather than the things it doesn't. Like running four competing power companies. It's nuts and there's no strategic interest there.”

See what happens! You enter parliament and become part of the reason for "Climate change". Open your mouth and out comes nothing but banal and vacuous hot air. But at least it isn't the usual utterances of drivel aimed at another political party. I do wish politicians (Both governmental and local seat-warmers) would get on with governing and moving our nation forward, rather than indulging in the uninspiring, puerile squabbling that they waste so much time and effort on currently.
