Motorists travelling between Tauranga and Matamata are being warned to expect delays this morning as police close a state highway.
State Highway 27, at the intersection of State Highway 29 on the Matamata side of the Kaimai Range, will close from 10am to midday to allow for a scene examination following a crash on Saturday.

It is not, however, in relation to the truck and trailer unit crash that happened at around 5.30pm yesterday.
A crash scene examination team will be back at the scene this morning to investigate the area and try to determine how Saturday's crash happened.
Motorists can expect delays, with diversions in place down Hopkins Road, Hinuera Road, SH27, SH24 and both north and south via Totman Road, Hinuera Road to SH29.

the 27/29 intersection is not exactly on the normal route between Matamata and Tauranga.
