Trans Tasman rower visits Bay

Tauranga residents gained an insight into an epic rowing crusade when Sean Quincey visited the region this week to talk about his trans Tasman adventure.

Sean Quincey aboard Tasman Tresspasser II, the boat he rowed from Australia.

The 25 year old followed in his father's footsteps when he rowed from Australia to New Zealand earlier this year.

Shaun visited Bayfair Shopping Centre on Tuesday showing people snippets of the amazing footage he captured during the 53 day ordeal.

He also signed copies of his new book, Tasman Tresspasser II, and showed off the boat he called home for nearly two months.

In 1977 Shaun's father Colin became the first man to row across the Tasman.

Shaun's boat was called the Tasman Trespasser II, named after his father's boat the Tasman Trespasser.

His book details the twists, turns, rolls and violent weather during his rowing crusade.

Shaun is considering another rowing feat once he has complete his nationwide book tour.
