Volleyball BOP will be running a 4-a-side Beach Volleyball tournament for all levels of players at Mount Maunganui tomorrow.

There are two grades, Sorta Serious, who will be playing for prizemoney and Sorta Social, who will be playing for prizes.

'There are tournaments all over the country for 2-a-side beach, but not a lot for the people who aren't trying to get ranking points and just love to play beach volleyball,” says Maria Woods from Volleyball BOP.

After encouragement from teams who play in the 4-a-side Tuesday league a tournament has been organised for locals and holidaymakers to join in.

'This time of year the Mount Maunganui Beach is a great place to be,” says Maria.

She says the Mount is a world class location for Beach Volleyball and it's a great game for everyone.

'We're hoping to have family teams, work teams, teams of friends and even teams of strangers.

'If you want to play and don't have a team, you can register as an individual and a team will be created. '

The cost is $60 per team and all teams are guaranteed at least three games, followed by semi-finals and finals if teams are successful.

Volleyball BOP has run a 4-a-side league every February and October since 1997.
