Re: ‘Cycleway – where in the common sense?’ (Letters page 25, The Weekend Sun November 24 edition). For a fraction of the cost, automatic safety barriers could have been installed to protect cyclists at the entrance to the marae, even with simple traffic lights. As seen in this photo.
The current design is absolutely ridiculous. Motorists turning on and off the highway should give way to cyclists.
