A person is in Tauranga Hospital after a car crashed into a lamp post on Chadwick Road in Greerton.

A car and ute have collided causing a red-two door car to crash into a lamp post at the intersection of Mansels Road at about 8.15am.

A person being taken to hospital by St John Ambulance Paramedics following a crash on Chadwick Road.

St John Ambulance paramedics removed the driver of the red two-door car and transported them to hospital.

The car was travelling along Chadwick Road towards Tauranga when it and the white ute collided.

Police and firefighters were also called to the scene.

A red Toyota crashed into a lamp post in Greerton.
