Police turned to the public for help after they opened an investigation into suspected arson following the blaze on Ohaupo Road on October 4.

“I would like to thank members of the public who have come forward and assisted in this investigation," says Following the woman's arrest, Detective Sergeant Terri Wilson.

The fire began at an address close to the Urlich Avenue intersection.

Three people were inside the house when the fire began, but managed to get out without sustaining any injuries.
