Police have arrested a 17-year-old man charged with the kidnapping of an 18-month-old child from his Rotorua home last night.
A large scale search was undertaken for 18-month-old toddler Elisaia Kiff who disappeared after his family's Koutu home was broken into sometime between 10.15pm and 2am.
A police spokesperson says Elisaia was found uninjured this morning at about 8.15am, but was medically checked as a precaution. He is now back home with his family.

The arrested man is not known to the family and Police would like to assure the public that they are not seeking anyone else in relation to this inquiry, says Detective Senior Sergeant Mark Van Kempen.
If anyone saw anything suspicious in the Koutu area between 10pm and 2am last night they are encouraged to contact the Rotorua Police on (07) 348 0099 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
A 17-year-old man will be appearing in the Rotorua District Court tomorrow Wednesday, December 14, but investigations are still continuing in relation to this inquiry.
Police have no further comment to make in relation to this case while the matter is before the courts.
