Third fatal crash in two days

One person is dead following a two car crash near Matamata.

Emergency services were called to the crash at No 1 Road, Waitoa, 20 minutes north of Matamata, around 1pm.

'Another person has been taken hospital,” says police.

'A section of No.1 Road is closed while the Serious Crash Unit investigate.”

Diversions are in place.

This is the third fatal crash in the Waikato and Bay of Plenty in the last two days.

A person was killed when the car they were in crashed with a bus carrying passengers from the Celebrity Solstice yesterday.

No one on the bus was injured.

The second crash involved the death of a 71-year-old American woman who was on a cycling tour in Tauranga. She was also a passenger from the Celebrity Solstice.

we will never get to find out exactly what happened will we?...if we are to understand why these things occur, then NZ Police need to inform us. but it never, ever happens....why? How can we possibly learn how to avoid the same things continuing to happen when we aren't told how they happened in the first place? Mr Campion won't tell....why not?....but who will?
