A Waikato teenager has wound up in hospital after he collided with a sheep at while riding a motorcycle on Tuesday night.
Auckland Westpac Rescue Helicopter Trust spokesperson Kerrie Spicer says the teenage boy had been riding his bike on a Te Kauwhata farm when he struck the sheep at about 6pm.
'He had been riding the bike at high speed when he had hit a sheep and fallen over the bike's handlebars.”
Kerrie says the boy suffered a leg injury as a result of the crash.
The Auckland Westpac Rescue Helicopter was then dispatched at 6.27pm. The crew landed at an adjacent farm and treated the boy at the scene.
He was then airlifted to Waikato Hospital in a moderate condition.
As for the sheep's fate, Kerrie says she is unsure of its condition.

Hope the Sheep is alright,probably a bit sore,will his family pay for the chopper which is really expensive, or at least give a $1,000 DONATION.Thankyou Sunlive, No1 in the Bay.

Good to see readers have their priorities straight. Worry about the sheep and the bill because as teenagers they never tried having a bit of FUN. Sad.

'A bit of FUN' you gotta be kidding!!!!! Oh I see now...you were kidding, my mistake! Should have to pay for chopper ....agree with 'the umpire'
