Motorcyclist killed in crash named

The motorcyclist killed in a crash in the Bay of Plenty has been named.

James Simerka of Ngakuru was killed when the motorbike he was riding and a car crashed at the intersection of Rehi Road and Whirinaki Valley Road, Ngakuru, south of Rotorua yesterday.

The Serious Crash Unit are continuing to investigate the crash the 42-year-old's death.

'Police offer their sympathies to the friends and family of the victim at this tragic time.”

Meanwhile, investigations into a crash overnight which claimed the life of a 22-year-old man in Te Kuiti are continuing.

The crash happened just after 9pm when a car travelling on SH30 in Kopaki crashed into a ditch.

'Due to the crash the driver was thrown from the vehicle, the man landed on the road and was struck by another vehicle,” says a statement from police.

'The two passengers in the car suffered minor injuries as a result of the initial crash.”

The Serious Crash Unit are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.

..and continue to ask...and NEVER get...the results of the investigation into the cause of this incident..there are more and more people always involved in some of the easiest decisions that need to be made and stated.Will this one be any different?..intersection...car vs motorcycle..w'dya reckon?..but then, the article goes on to report on another incident..ah well, "just another motorcyclist"will say in a 'statement from Police"...again...
