Free buses for All Blacks match

Ruby fans heading to Hamilton for September's Investec Rugby Championship match between the All Blacks and Argentina will have an easier time finding a car park.

For an hour before kick off, the Waikato Regional Council will run free bus shuttles to FMG Stadium Waikato, departing from the Knox Street carpark every 10-15 minutes. The shuttles will also pick up people who signal them while waiting at any official bus stop along the route.

The Waikato Regional Council is working with Go Bus, the Waikato Rugby Union and Hamilton City Council to provide the free shuttles.

Council's BUSIT manager Andrew Wilson says the shuttles help people avoid the hassle of finding carparks, as well as making it easier for revellers to get away after the final whistle has been blown.

'At the end of the game we get people into the CBD where they can celebrate what will hopefully be a win against the Pumas,” says Andrew.

Directly after the final whistle buses will depart the stadium from Tristram Street, near the Mill Street intersection.

They will travel back to the CBD via Anglesea, Alexandra, Knox and Victoria streets. Drop offs will also be made at any official bus stop along the route.

The free shuttles are also operating this weekend for Waikato's Ranfurly Shield clash against North harbour.

The All Blacks take on Argentina at FMG Stadium Waikato in Hamilton on Saturday, September 10.
