Flamenco and physics

An evening where the worlds of physics and music collide, crafting the elements of physics of sound, flamenco culture, and playing the guitar and other instruments whilst accompanied by flamenco dancers is on for the next Café Scientifique in Tauranga.

Dr Simon Taylor of the University of Waikato - a prominent physicist and educator who was awarded the Kudos Science Excellence Award in 2014 for being an outstanding educator – will provide an evening where the science of quantum mechanics and flamenco combine.

Café Scientifique gets musical.

Simon has studied astrophysics, quantum mechanics and has researched children's perceptions of science. He also has a deep fascination of the worlds of both music and physics.

When: 6.30pm for 7pm start, Monday 22 February 2016

Where: Tauranga Yacht and Power Boat Club, Sulphur Point, Tauranga

Cost: $5 with light refreshments available

Café Scientifique is a chance to explore the latest scientific thinking and research from national and international speakers. For further information, visit.
