Lost and found; many thanks

A very big thank you to the person who handed in a British tourist's purse to the police on December 29.

It contained four passports, plus money ready for the family's flight to Sydney the next day, so you can imagine the panic when they realised they had left it by the statue of Charles Jordon (who happened to be our niece's great-grand father and Mayor of Tauranga before the turn of the 20th century).

The kind person had it back with the family in a very short time and they continued on their way, very grateful and relieved.

Brett and Darinee Turnwald, Katikati
