Waikato Police would like to warn of possible delays in the Coromandel area this afternoon.
A car has caught fire on the Kopu-Hikuai Road and this has caused a bush fire in the locality.

The road is completely closed at this time and will be until the fire is extinguished, and is likely to only be opened as one lane for some time, reports police.
If motorists have an alternate route to a destination they are urged to please consider using this. If you do not then please use patience until you get to your destination.
