A 45 foot launch has run aground on the eastern side of Motiti Island.
The Pelin named Excalibur is believed to have hit rocks and run aground on the island just after midnight on Sunday.

Tauranga Coastguard attended the scene and helped to remove the six people from the vessel.
Coastguard operations manager Simon Barker believes the boat has hit some rocks and run aground on the island.
The vessel is still stuck on rocks in 2m deep water.
A Maritime New Zealand spokesperson confirmed they are aware of a small incident on Motiti Island, but believe police are dealing with the incident.
