UPDATED: A truck driver has escaped a crash near Katikati without injury.

A police spokesperson says a truck went off the road near Apata Station Road just after 12.30pm.

"The driver isn't injured and is arranging for the truck to be removed.

"There are no road blockages."

EARLIER:

Reports are coming of a truck off the road on State Highway 2, south of Katikati.

Emergency services are rushing to the scene.

A caller to the 0800 SUNLIVE news hotline says a truck has gone off the road near Apata Station Road.

"It looks serious. It may end up closing the road down as emergency services deal with the crash."
