Car fire smokes out Mount CBD

UPDATED: No one is believed to have been injured when a car burst into flames in the Mount CBD.

Firefighters were called at 10.53am and had the fire out by 11.10am, says Northern Fire Communications shift manager Jaron Phillips.

'I'm not aware of any injuries. There were several callers.”

The cause it as yet unknown.

EARLIER:

Smoke can be seen billowing from a car fire in Mount Maunganui this morning.

The fire is located on Maunganui Road just down from the Hikoi clothing store.

Northern Fire Communications shift manager Jaron Philips says the car was well involved when fire crews arrived at the scene.

He says the fire is now out and the cause is under investigation.

A quick Google search and this is not the first fire with this model. However, Google your own car model you 'll be surprised how common this is!
