Accused deny Maungatapu armed robbery

Three youths charged in relation to the armed robbery of a Maungatapu dairy have denied the allegation.

An 18, 19 and 16-year-old are facing charges of aggravated robbery following an incident on April 26 where two men, one armed with a pistol, robbed the Lucky 7 dairy on Maungatapu Road.

The 18 and 19-year-old were arrested on May 3, while the 16-year-old was arrested the Friday after the robbery.

'We would like to say a big thank you to the members of the public who assisted us with our inquires, your help was invaluable to us,” said Detective Sergeant Craig Rawlinson at the time of the arrests.

'The incident was traumatic for the shop attendant who had a pistol pointed at him.”

All three of the accused appeared in court this week, two of them were remanded in custody and the third has been released on bail until their next court appearance.

Pathetic! Not only do they rob the Maungatapu Dairy at gunpoint, but now these pathetic losers are denying it? What a waste of space! Hopefully, eventually, they will get what they deserve!
