Police investigating the possible murder of a man found dead at a residential property are appealing for information.

The body of Brent Paul Brown was found at a residential address on Poaka Avenue, Hamilton, last Wednesday, August 31.

'His death was initially treated as an unexplained death until the post mortem was completed,” police say on the Waikato District Police Facebook page.

'Mr Brown suffered a number of injuries in an attack where we believe a blunt instrument was used.

'We have spoken to other occupants of the dwelling where the victim lived, but we are seeking anyone else who had seen him from about midday on Tuesday up until the time of his death, which was before 11pm on Wednesday.”

Police have released a photo of Brent, given to them by family, in the hope someone will remember him.
