Update 8.34am: The New Zealand Transport Agency says the black ice on State Highway 36, Mangorewa Gorge has been resolved.
The Agency says the section of the road has had grit placed over it but drivers are still advised to take extra care.
Earlier: 6.15am: The New Zealand Transport Agency is warning motorist to be careful of black ice on State Highway 36, Mangorewa Gorge.
Grit has been applied but extreme caution is advised the Agency says.
The black ice is located 2.38km east of Ngawaro, 6.43km northwest of Kaharoa and 3.17km north of Te Pu.
