A light plane has crashed in Pukehina, south of Tauranga.
Police are at the scene and say the plane appears to have hit the ground and rolled.
"Police have been told it appeared three people were board," says a statement from police.
"No occupants of the plane were present when Police attended. There is currently nothing to indicate that there have been any injuries.
"The welfare of the occupants is being followed up by the police."
The cause of the crash is not yet known.
