Bomb threats at several NZ schools

Brookfield Primary School is one of six schools from around the country that received a bomb threat today.

Students and staff were evacuated from the school after a threat was called in around 12.30pm.


Police outside Brookfield Primary School following a bomb threat this afternoon.

Police were called to the scene and were seen searching the grounds.

Police are now confirmed other schools around New Zealand were also threatened.

The schools are Logan Park High School in Dunedin, Wellington High School in Wellington, Tamatea High School in Napier, Burnside High School in Christchurch, Central Normal School in Palmerston North, and Brookfield School in Tauranga.

'Police are liaising with each school and the schools have responded in accordance with their local plans which in some cases included the evacuation of the school,” says a statement from police.

'Police are currently assessing the nature of these calls and responding accordingly at each school.”
