The offender is described by the victims as being a male Maori, of medium height and athletic build. He had his face covered with a hoodie and sunglasses.

He was last seen fleeing in a light coloured 4 x 4 vehicle along College Road towards Main Street in Edgecumbe.

Police say the 4X4 was also seen acting suspiciously around the Edgecumbe CBD prior to the robbery at about 11.30pm and are keen to speak with anyone who may have seen the vehicle.

'We are also keen to speak to people who were in the College Road and Main Street areas between 11p.m and 12am on February 10.

'While the victims were not physically harmed the incident has left them shaken and victim support has been offered.”

At this stage police say there are no apparent links with the robbery of security guards in Kopeopeo on January 27.
