Police had been searching for a missing 70-year-old male.
The dive squad have been called in to search a pond in Manurewa as some of the man's belongings were found near it.
The dive squad have located a body in the pond.
The body is believed to be that of the missing male.
Formal identification procedures have yet to be completed. The incident has been referred to the coroner.
