Tauranga police have arrested a 24 year old man in connection with a home invasion in Matua on December 2.

A male occupant at the house was assaulted when three intruders broke into the Meadowland Street home.

The arrest follows tip offs from the public, but the other offenders are yet to be located.

He will appear in the Tauranga District Court on Thursday charged with aggravated burglary with the possibility that he will be facing further charges in due course.

Police are thanking the public for their cooperation and supply of information which assisted with this arrest.

They are further encouraging the public to continue supplying information in confidence with the use of 0800 SPEAKUP as part of the ‘See Something Say Something' campaign.

Police are continuing their enquiries to find the other offenders.
