6.55pm: Cambridge Road is now clear with both lanes open again following an earlier crash.

A two vehicle crash resulted in the westbound lane of Cambridge Road to be closed.

The traffic is now freely moving with the road open again.

Earlier, 6.08pm:

The Westbound lane of Cambridge Road over bridge between Te Atatu Place and Westminister Drive is blocked following a two vehicle crash.

"The Westbound lane is currently blocked due to both vehicles sustaining significant damage," says a Tauranga City Council spokesperson.

"Police are on scene, there are no injuries reported.

"Tow trucks are on the way to clear the damaged vehicles."

The spokesperson advises using alternate routes if possible during this time.
