UPDATE 9.20AM: One person has sutained minor injuries following a crash on a Bay of Plenty highway.

Police were called to a single vehicle crash on State HIghwa 33, near Paengaroa, around 8am.

A police spokeperson says a car hit the side of a barried on the highway, between Allport and Maniatutu road.

"One person shas minor injuries.

"One lane was blocked."

EARLIER:

Motorists are being advised of delays on State Highway 33 following a crash.

A caller to the 0800 SUNLIVE news hotline says one lane of the highway is blocked near Paengaroa.

"Police, fire and ambulance are at the scene.

"It looks like someone is still in one of the vehicles and is being check out by the ambulance."
