The southbound lane of State Highway 2 is blocked following a truck crash this afternoon.

Police received reports of a crash near Wilson Road North, Paengaroa at 2.39pm.

One person has received minor injuries, a police spokesperson confirms.

Traffic management is in place, says the spokesperson.

Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency advises the eastbound lane of SH2 is blocked at the intersection with Wilson Road North at Paengaroa.

"Motorists are asked to avoid the area, delay unnecessary travel or consider alternate routes where possible, and to follow the directions of emergency services or traffic management staff on site," says a statement from NZTA.
