A boil water notice issued in Kawerau last week, remains in place.
The Kawerau District Council is awaiting further direction from the Bay of Plenty Health Board, the council says in a Facebook post.
“There has been a third clear sample received today.
“The Bay of Plenty District Health Board are meeting with council staff and undertaking site visits to various areas of the Kawerau water system.
“We will keep you informed as soon as more information is known.
“Meanwhile, the water tanker will remain at the Ranfurly Court carpark today for residents to fill up their clean drinking water containers.
“Please accept our thanks for your patience with this ongoing situation.”
