A section of walkway joining the Strand waterfront with the Matapihi Rail Bridge and Harbourside restaurant area will be temporarily closed from next Wednesday (April 17).
The closure will allow contractors to repair the wooden walkway, and is expected to last two days.
Pedestrians are advised to use the footpath on the neighbouring road.
Signage will be in place.
The closure had been scheduled to start on Monday, but has been delayed because of tides.
