Earthworks aimed at controlling stormwater and reducing the effects of flooding near The Historic Village may affect access to a path during the next few weeks.
Work will take place between the north-western ends of Sixteenth Avenue and Seventeenth Avenue from early next week until late April, and contractors may have to restrict access to a section of cycleway/walkway at times for safety reasons.
The nearby skate park and the main section of cycleway, running from Seventeenth Avenue along Takitimu Drive, are expected to remain open.
The project aims to raise the existing earth bunds to prevent excess flooding in the surrounding areas.
Signage will be in place, and path users will be directed around the works.
