What's on - Art market and retiree expo

Arcylics painter Nancy Frazer.

Good morning SunLive readers, and welcome back to another Saturday.

I was lucky enough to witness a gorgeous sunset this morning looking out over Otamarakau, past the Matata straights and out to the sea.

I'm glad I did too because unfortunately the crisp weather is meant to be short lived. MetService has predicted cloudy periods and a few showers from this afternoon, as well as some gusty westerlies. The high today is 21°c and your overnight low is 13°c.

That's not to say you can't still enjoy the day.

And it's an especially good day to celebrate if you're a retiree, because at BayPark this weekend, there's a whole expo full of more than 55 exhibits with products to sample, things to learn and loads of information on groups you can join.

The event kicks off at 10am and runs until 3pm this afternoon, and the best bit of it all - entry is free.

If you're not quite an oldie yet, then no worries, because the city is still putting on a number of events with lots of crafty markets and stalls, like the Art in Park sale.

Head down to Coronation Park in Mount Maunganui from 9am today to see a range of art by the Tauranga Art Society.

Or there's the Tauranga South Community Patrol Car Boot Sale. A single site is only $5, and double is $10, and if you're not a vendor then make sure you head down and support those who are.

It's on at Greerton Village School 151 Greerton Road, from 6.30am onwards

There's even more activities you can find happening today, have a look in the calendar below:
