UPDATED: An ‘unsafe lane change' is being put down as the cause of a traffic accident on Takitimu Drive this morning.

The crash, near the Judea industrial area around 7.30am, resulted in significant delays for motorists.

Western Bay of Plenty road policing manager Senior Sergeant Ian Campion says police have spoken to both drivers regarding the incident.

'Fortunately, there were no injuries.”

The crash occurred near the Judea industrial area, just past the point where Route K traffic merges with other motorway traffic.

Vehicles were reduced to a crawl along the motorway, and backed up all the way to the Waihi Road off-ramp until the crash scene was cleared.

Will the good Sergeant now be paying some attention to bad lane discipline and generally poor driving behaviour on the districts roads ? Or will his focus remain speed speed speed ?

Agree with By mutley, does it not make you sick hearing all about speed speed speed,it has nothing to do with it,SGT,.PLOD does not care,do you notice that person must be the go to guy for all these stories, never people on the scene, it must be relayed to him via whatever, anyway it does not say what happened or, and says unsafe lane change,( do you notice its a Co,. car) wonder did he get a DCM,anyway nobody hurt thats awesome, now back to tickets for sp----ng,SUNLIVE is No1 in the Bay for news great work you people,Thankyou 10-4 out.
