A gold coin donation gains entry to see eleven of the rarest supercars in the world, with all proceeds going towards the Christchurch earthquake recovery.

The cars include a 2010 Rolls Royce Ghost, 2011 Aston Martin DBS and a Lamborghini Gallardo. There were also Ferrari rides and AC/DC memorabilia for auction from 11.30am until 12pm today.

Managing Director Michael Palmer says they are easily expecting about 10,000 people. Buses are coming up from New Plymouth, Palmerston North, and an Auckland based car club is making a convoy down to see the cars.

Michael says Phil approached them with the idea and thinks this is a great way to share community spirit. Everyone from little kids to long-time AC/DC fans were there, with some getting T-shirts signed by Phil. Younger fan Josh Preston from Bethlehem is a huge fan thanks to his Dad, and his favourite song was ’Thunderstrike’.
