The cruise ship the Explorer of the Seas delayed its departure time today after a passenger died on board.
A spokesman for the Port of Tauranga said a passenger had died on board, but the death was not being treated as suspicious.

'This happens," says the spokesman, "and it has happened and [the ship] has gone now.”
The ship was scheduled to leave port at 5pm today and make its way to Napier. The ship departed just after 6pm.
