Jet boats return to Bay Park

After a two-year break, the award-winning event showcasing exhilarating, high-octane V8 Jetsprint racing action is returning to ASB Stadium at Baypark in Mt Maunganui.

The event starts this Saturday January 27 at 5pm and runs until 10pm. Gates open at 3pm for spectators wanting to check out the early qualifying rounds.

After dark, the boats will be illuminated in a stunning display of on-board LED and neon lights, bringing even more excitement to the exhilarating night-time racing!

A spectacular five-hour day/night racing extravaganza with three classes of V8-powered Jetsprint boats battling it out for the ENZED 2018 Jetsprints Stadium Cup.

Thirty boats will reach speeds of up to 125kph - all on a purpose-built aqua-track in the stadium.

The covered stadium seating allows spectators to get up close to the exhilarating racing action, with thrills 'n spills and action-packed family entertainment both on and off the track.

With near sell-out crowds of 15,000+ in past years, tickets are expected to go fast.

Tickets are available through Eventfinda with a savings of $10-$20 on gate ticket price for general admission adult and general admission family.

SunLive has two double general admission passes to the race this Saturday to give away to two lucky readers.

*Competition closes 10am, Thursday January 25*
